Description:
Protection and restoration of native wildlife and habitat around the township of Halfmoon Bay. Return of species threatened with extinction, which have disappeared for the area over time, back home and monitoring of those species to ensure their successful re-establishment. Involvement of the local and wider community in protecting their backyards for the environmental, social and economic it provides benefits today as well as for future generations.
Current involvement:
Stewart Island/ Rakiura Community and Environment Trust, Stewart Island/ Rakiura community, Department of Conservation, Southland District Council, Environment Southland and many Stewart Island businesses.
